HUNGARY’S NATIONAL AVIATION SAFETY PROGRAMME AND PLAN HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED

Following several years of preparation, Hungary's National Aviation Safety Program (NRP) and National Aviation Safety Plan (NRT) have been published in August this year.

The Safety Program (NRP) is a document containing national safety objectives setting up guidelines and obligations for organizations running a Safety Management System in the aviation industry as well. The Safety Plan (NRT) is a related, continuously evolving document defining specific safety objectives, performance indicators (SPIs) and performance targets (SPTs) for a given period.

Affected organizations must take into account the objectives, performance indicators and performance targets set out in the NRP and NRT when setting up and operating their own Safety Management System and Safety Performance Monitoring system, e.g. defining their own SPIs and SPTs.

Both documents can be downloaded from the website of the Hungarian Aviation Authority – simply by using the search function of the Document Library.

CONSEQUENCES, TASKS

Organizations required to operate a Safety Management System, including training organizations and aircraft operators, should review and bring their safety management and safety performance monitoring systems into line with the NRP and NRT asap, including their safety objectives, performance indicators (SPIs) and performance targets (SPTs) defined within that system.

The Authority may verify compliance with the above at any time.
